block tackle (plural block tackles)
- (soccer) A defensive technique used to regain possession of the ball from an opponent by positioning the body in front of the ball and using the legs to obstruct the opponent's path, preventing them from advancing.
- (rugby) A defensive maneuver where a player uses their body to block an opponent who is carrying the ball.
