- A traditional figure made from straw, associated with pre-industrial harvest customs of Europe.

- Many of these fetishes and objects of superstition are things which have ended in becoming children's playthings. Dolls of straw such as the "corn dollies" were to promote good harvests, dolls with a tooth atttached were to help with teething.
