crosscheck (plural crosschecks)

  1. A verification (of information, data, or calculations) by using an alternative source or method.
    Coordinate terms: recheck, double check, triple check
  2. (ice hockey) An illegal maneuver where a player strikes another with the shaft of his stick, or the penalty thereby incurred.
  3. (lacrosse) A penalty where a player hits another player with the shaft of their lacrosse stick with their hands spread apart.
