  1. That which deflates.
    • 2017, Daniel Perkins, Ted Baker in Terrorist Gold, page 161:
      The balloons will have to have an altitude deflator. When a balloon reaches a certain predetermined altitude, the deflator will begin to let out the helium gas to the point of restricting the ultimate ascension of the balloon.
  2. (economics) A factor applied to economic statistics in order to counter the effect of inflation.
