- Any relatively long-lasting (nonconsumable) medical equipment to improve quality of life, such as iron lungs, oxygen tents, nebulizers, catheters, wheelchairs, walkers, elevatable beds, etc. This name is used mostly when referring to such equipment being used for in-home (at-home) care.
