  1. (uncountable) The state or condition of being fixed.

      [O]therwise, it is almost inescapable that there must be some sort of centralized mechanism guaranteeing the fixity of prices[.]
  2. (countable) Something fixed.
  3. (programming) The position of an operator relative to its operand (prefix, postfix) or operands (infix).
    One may use a fixity declaration in Haskell to describe an operator's precedence and direction of associativity.
