    • 1848, John Galt, All the Voyages Round the World:
      After this, he was in a great hurry to get his spritsail-yard fore and aft, threatening very hard, and plying them with his forechase; but they were soon out of his reach; this ship was called the Peregrine, of fifty-six guns, with upward of 450 men.
