  1. (ornithology) (of a plumage) an inner web
    • 2010, Ewan Urquhart, Stonechats:
      When closed, the tail appears dark brown, as the central pair of tail feathers have no or only avery little white at the base of the innerweb (12–18mm) which is in any case obscured by the uppertail-coverts.
