Breton
Etymology
From Middle Breton lapoucc, laboucc, of unknown origin. Comparisons have been made with Latin locusta, lacusta (“locust, lobster”) and Old English loppestre (whence English lobster), but these present clear phonetic and semantic difficulties if interpreted as cognates.
Noun
labous m (plural laboused)
