mill drill (plural mill drills)

1. A classroom exercise in which students have to mill around to exchange information.
2. A light-duty machine tool for milling or drilling, as needed; it combines a drill press with the X/Y coordinate abilities of a milling machine's table and a locking collet that ensures that the milling cutter will not fall from the spindle due to lateral forces against the cutter during milling.
