- 1908, Supplement to Court Leet Records, volume 1:
- The spellings in ī represent Old French ē2, and if they are not miswrits show merely the tendency to exaggerate the ē beginning of the diphthong ei which was the beginning of that sound.
- 2012, Eiríkr Magnússon, Thómas Saga Erkibyskups: A Life of Archbishop Thomas Becket in Icelandic:
