1. (archaic, rare) The quality of happening often; frequency.
   • 1888, Richard Hooker, John Keble, The Works, volume 2, page 411:

     Often fasting which was a virtue in John's disciples could not in them of itself be a vice, and therefore not the oftness of their fasting but their hypocrisy therein was blamed.
