    • 2016 January 8, “Locus- and Site-Specific DNA Methylation of 19 kDa Zein Genes in Maize”, in PLOS ONE, →DOI:
An interesting genetic phenomenon is paramutation, where a methylated epiallele can silence a paramutable allele in heterozygous progeny with the acquisition of methylated DNA. However in this case, methylation appears to be rather the consequence of gene silencing than the cause.
