    • 1841 October 30, “Foreign News”, in The Saturday Evening Post, volume XXI, number 1057, Philadelphia, page 2, column 5:
      A meating was held on the 29th ult. for the election of Lord Mayor for the City of London, when Alderman Joha Pirie, and by trade a plasterman, was elected.
