runecaster (plural runecasters)

  1. A person who uses runes for divinatory or esoteric purposes; one who practises runecasting.
    • 1989, Edred Thorsson, Runelore: A Handbook of Esoteric Runology, York Beach, Me.: S. Weiser, page 115:
      From the numinous fire of fehu Frigg and Freyja receive their gifts as seeresses. From this common source runecasters derive their ability to "read the runes aright" in divinatory work.
