save point (plural save points)

1. (video games) A location found in a video game that allows the player to save their game, often found in non-overworld areas such as towns and dungeons, where saving anywhere is not allowed. Gameplay resumes from the save point used.

     Some enemies will use Bobble Heads to emit a hypnotic wave. Stay out of the path of the hypnotic wave otherwise Cory's Hypnosis Meter [...] will begin to deplete. If it depletes all the way, you will have to restart from the last save point.
