Borrowed from English synoptic, from New Latin synopticus, from Ancient Greek συνοπτικός (sunoptikós, seeing the whole together or at a glance), from σύνοψις (súnopsis, a general view, synopsis), from συν- (sun-, with) + ὄψις (ópsis, view).
