Etymology

Since the 1890s or earlier; figurative, conceiving sunlight as if it were a fluid that can drench (immerse) something.

Adjective

sun-drenched (comparative more sun-drenched, superlative most sun-drenched)

  1. Receiving lots of sunshine; bathed in sunlight; (of a place) frequently sunny.
    Sun-drenched beaches are vacation destinations for sunbathers no matter where the beaches are.
