English

Pronunciation

Noun

through-ticket (plural through-tickets)

  1. A ticket that is a single contract for a multileg journey (e.g. on multiple transport networks) that guarantees passenger rights and protections in case of disruptions on one leg of the journey, e.g. a missed train.
On a through-ticket you're legally entitled to later onward travel if a delay means a missed connection, but with separate train-specific tickets the risk is yours.
