  1. (automobiles, British, Australia, New Zealand) A device used to clear rain and dirt from a windscreen; normally a pivoting arm with a rubber blade; a windshield wiper.
    • 1958 July, “German Railbuses for British Railways”, in Railway Magazine, page 501:
      The driver's window in each cab is fitted with an electrically-operated windscreen wiper, a sun visor, and a defroster, heated from a nozzle.
  2. (bodybuilding) An exercise where the back is parallel to the ground (lying on it or hanging via the arms from a pull-up bar) and the legs are perpendicular to the floor so that the lower torso with the legs is rotated to target the Musculus obliquus externus abdominis, the Musculus quadratus lumborum and the Musculus rectus abdominis.
