Tron is an American science fiction media franchise consisting of films, an animated television series, video games, comic books, music recording albums, theme park attractions, and various other media. Tron largely takes place inside "the Grid", a digital virtual reality where computer programs are sentient entities appearing in the likeness of the human users who created them in the real world. Programs are often pitted against each other in a series of deadly gladiatorial games. The title refers to the eponymous self-governing security measure program from the first film created to protect the Grid system.
