Úr is the Irish name of the eighteenth letter of the Ogham alphabet, ᚒ, meaning "clay", "earth", "soil" and also "fresh" or "moist". In Old Irish, the letter name was also written Úir. Its phonetic value is [u] or [u:].[1]
