La Reĝa Statistika Societo (angle Royal Statistical Society, akronime RSS) estis fondita en 1834 kiel la Statistika Societo de Londono [1].

En tiu tempo ekzistis pluraj similaj socioj pri statistiko en aliaj lokoj de Britio, kvankam la plej multaj malaperis. La escepto estas la Manĉestra Statistika Societo, pli malnova ol la Londona [2].
Ludante rolon en la fondo de la societo estis Richard Jones, Charles Babbage, Adolphe Quételet, William Whewell kaj Thomas Malthus. Unu el ĝiaj plej famaj membroj estis Florence Nightingale, kiu iĝis la unua ina membro de la societo en 1858.
La Statistika Societo de Londono iĝis la Reĝa Statistika Societo en 1887 kaj aliĝis al la Instituto de Statistiko en 1993 [3].
La organizo ĉiujare aljuĝas la Guy Medalon, nomitan laŭ la brita kuracisto kaj statistikisto William Guy (1810-1885).
En 2004, ĝi havis 7 200 membrojn tutmonde [4].
La societo eldonas la profesian revuon Journal of the Royal Statistical Society [5].
