El Premio Óscar al mejor argumento fue un premio que otorgó la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood entre 1928 y 1956 y que es considerado como el predecesor del premio al mejor guion original, que se creó en 1940 y con el cual fue fusionado en 1957.
