Irán, que'l su nombri oficial es Repúbrica Islámica d'Irán (Jomhuriyat-e Eslami Iran o Yomhūrī-ye Eslāmī-ye Īrān; en persa, جمهوری اسلامی ایران), es un estau d'Orienti Meiu (ásia). Hazi arrayu con Paquistán i Afganistán pol esti; Turkmenistán pol el noresti, el Mari Caspiu pol el norti i Azerbaiyán i Arménia pol noroesti; Turquia e Iraq pol oesti y con el Golfu Pérsicu i el Golfu d'Omán pol sul.
