Decatur é unha vila situada no condado de DeKalb no estado estadounidense de Xeorxia. Segundo o censo de 2010, a súa poboación era de 19.335 habitantes.[1]

Decatur foi fundada en 1822 na intersección de dúas rutas nativas americanas: o Sandtown, que leva ao leste do río Chattahoochee en Utoy Creek, e o Shallowford, que precede ao actual Clairmont Road e cruza preto de Roswell. A cidade foi chamada así en honor ao heroe naval Stephen Decatur.
Na década de 1830, a compañía Western and Atlantic Railroad quería facer de Decatur a parada situada máis ao sur da súa liña. Os cidadáns de Decatur non querían o ruído, a contaminación e o crecemento que viría cun terminal tan importante, polo que rexeitaron a proposta. En resposta, o ferrocarril fundou unha nova cidade ao oeste-suroeste de Decatur para o terminal. Esta cidade máis tarde converteuse na cidade de Atlanta.
Durante a Guerra Civil Americana, Decatur converteuse nun lugar estratéxico na batalla de Atlanta.
Segundo a Oficina do Censo, a localidade ten unha área total de 10,8 km².
