O Moncayo, ás veces tamén chamado Monte de San Miguel é unha montaña de 2.314,3 m.s.n.m., que forma parte do Sistema Ibérico, situada entre a provincia de Zaragoza (Aragón) e a provincia de Soria (Castela e León), en España. Pola súa altura é a cima máis elevada do Sistema Ibérico e un dos picos emblemáticos da Península Ibérica.

Desde 1978 o contorno onde se ergue está protexido como Parque Natural de la Dehesa del Moncayo cunha superficie de 9.848 ha.
O clima é do máis duro dentro do conxunto do Val do Ebro, aínda que as temperaturas máis baixas se alcanzan nas depresións que cortan os ríos e que poden superar os -15 °C. Ao tempo é a zona máis chuviosa, especialmente na cara setentrional do macizo, onde converxe a nubosidade procedente do noroeste da península, o que fai que as precipitacións medias anuais estean arredor dos 1.000 mm.
O relativamente nivel alto de precipitacións, favorece a aparición de plantas propias doutros dominios florais, como o carballo, que se desenvolve nas ladeiras setentrionais baixas, e a faia, que xorde nas zonas de avesedo.
