Nicolás Maduro Moros, nado en Caracas o 23 de novembro de 1962, é un político venezolano, actual presidente de Venezuela. Anteriormente tamén ocupou os cargos de ministro de Relacións Exteriores (2006–2013) e vicepresidente executivo de Venezuela (2012–2013).

Como vicepresidente, Maduro asumiu as funcións administrativas e económicas de Venezuela durante a doenza do presidente Hugo Chávez. Ao morrer Chávez o 5 de marzo de 2013, Maduro asumiu o cargo de «presidente encargado de Venezuela» até a celebración de eleccións presidenciais. Ante esta situación, os medios de comunicación internacionais destacaron que, segundo a Constitución venezolana non sería o vicepresidente Maduro senón Diosdado Cabello, presidente da Asemblea Nacional quen tería que asumir a presidencia interina da república.[1][2][3]
