The Durutti Column

The Durutti Column è un gruppo musicale formatosi a Manchester all'inizio del 1978. Il gruppo, che ruota intorno alla figura del chitarrista Vini Reilly (Vincent Gerard Reilly), è stato uno dei primi a firmare per l'etichetta Factory Records di Tony Wilson.^[1]

La band nel 2006

Il nome del gruppo proviene da un fumetto (La Retour de la Colonne Durutti) prodotto nel 1966 dal francese André Bertrand, membro della Internationale Anarchiste e allora studente all'Università di Strasburgo. Bertrand si ispirò alla cosiddetta Colonna Durruti, capitanata dall'anarchico spagnolo Buenaventura Durruti (di cui Bertrand trascrisse male il cognome).^[2]
