ロシアの熊(ロシアのくま。ロシア語: Русский медведь, tr. Russky medved)は、ロシアを表すイメージとして広く認知されている。ユーラシアヒグマ(英語版)の姿が一般的であり、風刺画や記事、演劇などで、少なくとも16世紀から[1]、ロシア帝国、短期間で消滅したロシア臨時政府やロシア共和国(英語版)、ソビエト連邦、現在のロシア連邦を表すために使われてきた。

The Russian Bear (ロシア語: Русский медведь, tr. Russky medved) is a widespread symbol (generally of a Eurasian brown bear(英語版)) for Russia, used in cartoons, articles and dramatic plays since as early as the 16th century,[2] and relating alike to the Russian Empire, the short-lived Russian Provisional Government and Russian Republic(英語版), the Soviet Union, and the present-day Russian Federation. It often was and is used by Westerners, originated in British caricatures and later also used in the United States, and not always in a flattering context – on occasion it was used to imply that Russia is "big, brutal and clumsy" (see 19th-century cartoon below).
