루이 브리에르 드 리즐

루이 알렉상드르 에스프리 가스통 브리에르 드 리즐(프랑스어: Louis Alexandre Esprit Gaston Brière de l'Isle, 1827년 6월 24일 – 1896년 6월 19일)은 세네갈 총독(1876 ~ 1881)으로 처음으로 두각을 드러낸 프랑스 육군의 장군이었다. 통킹 원정군의 총책임자였다. 청불 전쟁(1884년 8월 ~ 1885년 4월) 기간 통킹 원정대를 사령관이 되었다.

어린 시절

루이 브리에르 드 리즐은 1827년 6월 4일 카리브해의 마르티니크에서 태어났다. 1847년에 그는 생시르 사관학교에 졸업하고, 프랑스 해병대의 소위가 되었다. 이후 1852년에 중위로, 1856년에 대위로 승진했다.
