세파르딤

세파르딤(히브리어: סְפָרַדִּים, 스페인어: Sefardí 세파르디^[*], 포르투갈어: Sefardita 세파르디타^[*], 영어: Sephardim) 또는 스파라드 유대인(히브리어: יְהוּדֵי סְפָרַד 예후디 스파라드, 영어: Sephardic Jews, Sephardi Jews, Iberian Peninsular Jews)은 이베리아반도(스페인)를 기원으로 하는 유대인 그룹으로, 주로 독일계 유대인에 해당하는 아슈케나짐과 구분하기 위하여 정의된다. 세파르딤은 주로 포르투갈이나 스페인계 유대인들로 여겨지지만, 이란과 같은 중동 나라의 유대인이나 북아프리카계 유대인이 포함되기도 한다. 일반적으로 중동의 유대인들은 미즈라힘으로 분류된다.

15세기(1490년대) 이베리아반도(스페인 1492년, 포르투갈 1497년)에서 추방되었으나, 이슬람화된 이베리아반도에서의 영향을 많이 받은 유대인 관습을 유지한다. 유대교 정통파의 한 갈래로서, 전체 유대인의 20%를 차지한다. 남유럽, 중동, 남미 등에 많다. 1949년 이스라엘 독립전쟁 이후, 850,000명의 세파르딤이 아랍으로부터 이주하였으며, 그 중 약 600,000명은 이스라엘로, 나머지 인구는 유럽과 미국으로 이주하였다. 프랑스의 유대인은 대부분이 세파르딤이다.
