아프리카의 인구

아프리카의 인구는 지난 백년에 걸쳐 급속도록 증가했다.^[1] 아프리카는 인구학적으로 젊은 편이며, 기대수명은 50세에 못미치는 국가도 있을 정도로 짧은 편이다.^[2] 2020년 기준 인구는 13.41억 명으로 추산되며, 같은 기간 인구 성장률은 2.5%를 웃돈다. 세계은행에 따르면 2018년 기준 사하라 이남 아프리카 지역의 합계출산율은 4.7명으로, 전 세계 다른 어떤 지역보다도 높았다.^[3] 2020년 기준 아프리카에서 인구가 가장 많은 국가는 나이지리아로, 2억 6백만 명에 달하며, 같은 기간 인구 성장률은 2.6%에 달한다.^[4] 2019년 기준 인구 밀도는 평방킬로미터당 44명이다.

상당수의 아프리카 국가들의 연평균 인구 성장률이 2%를 넘는다.
