Axelius (Finnice Akseli) Gallen-Kallela (Arctopoli 26 Aprilis 1865 natus; Holmiae in Suecia 7 Martii 1931 mortuus) fuit unus ex potentissimis pictoribus Finnicis, notus picturis saeculo nono decimo exeunte factis, quarum argumenta ex Kalevala sumpsit, carmine epico Finniae proprio. Multum valuisse existimatur ad artem pingendi Finnicam. Operibus suis nationalismum, symbolismum, realismum repraesentavit. Fautor nationalismi Finnici se praestaret, circiter anno 1907 nomen principale suum Suecicum Axel Gallén convertit in Akseli Gallen-Kallela, ut magis nomen Finnicum sonet.

Annis 1880, picturae studebat Lutetiae, ubi vitam inaequalem et artificiosam picturis descripsit, sed magis magisque studiosus factus est naturae et mythologiae Finnicae depingendarum. Saeculo vicesimo ineunte, opera tectoria creare incohavit, quorum pingendorum in Italia peritus factus erat. Inter alia opera tectoria in patria sua mausoleum Arctopolitanum Sigridis et Arthurii Jusélius confecit. Annis volventibus magis magisque naturam describebat confecitque aliquot picturarum colorum variorum itinere suo in Africa.
Anno 1931, pneumonia defunctus est, Hafniam in Finniam rediens. Sepultus est in sepulcreto Hietaniemi Helsingiae, in loco collis artificum nominato, qui collis est fabris bene meritis dedicatus.
