Baniškės – Vilniaus miesto dalis, esanti į šiaurės rytus nuo miesto centro, prie Kairėnės (Upelės ) upelio, į šiaurės vakarus nuo Kairėnų.[1] Driekiasi į vakarus iki Nemenčinės plento pagal upelio slėnį. Yra Baniškių kapinės, aptiktas Baniškių pilkapynas. Baniškes supa miškai, netoliese telkšo Kairėnų ežeras. Vyrauja kolektyviniai sodai.

XX a. pr. minimas Baniškių užusienis, priklausęs Kairėnų dvarui.[2]
1905 m. Mickūnų valsčiaus Baniškių vandens malūno gyvenvietėje (Tiškevičių valda) gyveno 29 žmonės.[3] 1931 m. – 63 gyventojai.[4]
1994 m. rastas viduramžių Baniškių lobis.
