Opòlė [5] (lenk. Opole, vok. Oppeln, ček. Opoli) – miestas-apskritis pietvakarių Lenkijoje, prie Odros upės; vaivadijos centras. Aukštutinės Silezijos istorinis centras. Svarbus automobilių kelių ir geležinkelių centras, upių uostas. Išplėtota energetikos, maisto, cemento, baldų, siuvimo pramonė. Veikia zoologijos sodas, dramos, šokio, lėlės teatrai, trys muziejai, šiuolaikinio meno galerija, technologijos universitetas, dvasinė seminarija. Rengiamos įvairios mugės.

Miestas ėmė kurtis apie X a. kaip slavų gyvenvietė Pasieka saloje Odros upėje. Nuo XI a. Piastų kunigaikštystės centras. XIII a. Pasieka saloje pastatyti mūriniai kunigaikščių rūmai. 1254 m. Opolė gavo miesto teises. Nuo 1327 m. priklausė Čekijai, nuo 1526 m. Habsburgų monarchijai. 1645-1665 m. kaip užstatas atiduota Vazoms. XVI–XVII a. sparčiai augo Opolės ūkis. Nuo 1742 m. priklausė Prūsijai. XIX a. dar labiau sustiprėjo miesto pramonė, ypač nutiesus geležinkelį. 1921 m. Tautų Sajungai surengus plebiscitą, Opolė liko Vokietijai. Antrojo pasaulinio karo metais mieste ir šalia jo veikė daug koncentracijos stovyklų, dėl miesto vyko smarkūs mūšiai. 1945 m. Opolė perduota Lenkijai.
Senamiestis taisyklingo plano su turgaus aikšte. Išliko gotikinių pilių bokštai, gynybinių miesto sienų griuvėsiai, XV a. šv. Kryžiaus Išaukštinimo katedra, pranciškonų ir dominikonų vienuolynai. XVII a. pabaigos Jėzuitų kolegija, šv. Aleksiejaus, šv. Sebastijono bažnyčos, kelis kartus perstatyta miesto rotušė.[6]
