മെരാപി അഗ്നിപർവ്വതം

ഇന്തോനേഷ്യയിലെ സജീവമായ ഒരു അഗ്നിപർവതമാണ് മേരാപി അഗ്നിപർവ്വതം (Mount Merapi, Gunung Merapi (വാച്യാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഇന്തോനേഷ്യൻ ഭാഷയിലും ജാവാനീസ് ഭാഷയിലും അഗ്നിപർവ്വതം എന്നുതന്നെ). മധ്യജാവയ്ക്കും യോഗ്യകർത്താ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾക്കു  ഇടയിലാണ് ഇതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം. ഇന്തോനേഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും സജീവമായ ഈ അഗ്നിപർവ്വതം 1548 നു ശേഷം തുടർച്ചയായി പൊട്ടിത്തെറിക്കാറുണ്ട്. 24 ലക്ഷത്തോളം ജനങ്ങൾ വസിക്കുന്ന യോഗ്യകർത്തായ്ക്ക് വടക്കായി ഏകദേശം 28 കിലോമീറ്റർ (92,000 അടി) അകലെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഇതിന്റെ ചുറ്റുവട്ടത്ത് കടൽനിരപ്പിൽനിന്നും 1,700 മീറ്റർ (5,600 അടി) വരെ ജനങ്ങൾ പാർക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

2018 മെയ് 11 പൊട്ടിത്തെറി തുടങ്ങിയതോടെ ആൾക്കാരെ ചുറ്റുപാടും നിന്ന് 5-കിലോമീറ്റർ (16,000 അടി) വരെ ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചു.യോഗ്യകർത്തായിലെ അദിശുദ്‌ജിപ്തോ വിമാനത്താവളം അടയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.^[2][3][4]
