De rol van de keizer van Japan (天皇, ten'nou van mikado) was die van een keizerlijke heerser, van het begin van de historie tot het midden van de twintigste eeuw. Onder de moderne constitutie van Japan is de keizer nu grotendeels alleen nog in naam het hoofd van de staat (zie Overheid van Japan).
Het onderstaande is een traditionele lijst van keizers van Japan. De keizers tot Ojin (応神天皇) worden als legendarisch beschouwd.
