Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) bouwde een onderhoudsdepot voor treinen, Portlaoise Traincare Depot, ten zuidoosten van het centrum van Portlaoise, dat op 1 januari 2008 gereed was en later dat jaar in gebruik genomen werd.[1]
