Skotfoss er en bydel i gamle Solum kommune, nå tilhørende Skien kommune i Telemark. Skotfoss har rundt 1 700 innbyggere. Stedet ligger ved utløpet av innsjøen Norsjø. Den nederste av kanalene i Telemarkskanalen, Norsjø–Skienkanalen har sitt største sluseanlegg her (Løveid sluser).

Skotfoss er bygd opp rundt fossen, fossekraften og industrien. Her lå en gang Nord-Europas største papirfabrikk, Skotfos Brug. Papiret herfra ble eksportert til hele verden. Aviser som The New York Times brukte en gang papir fra fabrikken på Skotfoss. Fabrikken ble nedlagt i 1987.
Skotfoss kirke ble bygget i 1900, byggingen ble betalt av papirfabrikken Union og den ble bygget av arbeidere fra Skotfoss Bruk. Skotfoss historielag har reist en statue navngitt etter en av damene som arbeidet ved Union, Ulla. Den er plassert på Torget. Norges første fotballklubb var grunnlagt på Skotfoss, i 1884. Oppstarten kom nok på grunn av noen engelske papirarbeidere som hadde tatt med fotball. Skotfoss fikk altså fotballklubb før idrettslag. Odd sin fotball klubb har sitt opphav, fra Skotfoss.
Fotballspilleren Frode Johnsen er oppvokst på Skotfoss og Skotfoss Turn & Idrettsforening var Johnsens ungdomsklubb.
Løveid skytterlag ble etablert i 1894 på Skotfoss og har sin sommeraktivitet på baneanlegget. Løveid skytterlag er tilsluttet Det frivillige skyttervesen (DFS) og er første gang nevnt i 1890 under Telefylkets Folkevæpningssamlag. Skytterlaget kom tilbake på listene i DFS i 1894 som er lagets offisielle stiftelsesår. Laget ble borte i perioden 1927 til og med 1939.
