Lester Russell Brown (n. , Bridgeton(d), New Jersey, SUA) este un analist de mediu care a scris mai multe cărți pe tema problemelor globale de mediu. Este fondator și președinte al Institutului de Politică Planetară (Earth Policy Institute), organizație de cercetare non-profit din Washington, D.C..

El a introdus conceptul de Eco-economie, într-o carte publicată în 2001, Eco-Economy: Building an Economy for the Earth.
În data de 11 mai 2010 Lester Brown a fost ales membru de onoare din străinătate al Academiei Române.[1][2]
