Изотомы^[1] (лат. Isotoma) — широко распространённый род коллембол из семейства изотомид (Isotomidae). Для Неарктики указано 70 видов^[2], для Европы указано 3 вида (Isotoma anglicana, I. riparia, I. viridis)^[3].

Является типовым родом этого семейства^[4].

Описание

Мелкие коллемболы (2—3 мм). Прыгательная вилка длинная, мукро с 3 или 4 зубцами (реже 5 или 2). Головчатые волоски на тибиотарзусе отсутствуют. Глазков как правило восемь (может быть меньше вплоть до их отсутствия). Обитают во влажных местах, в лесной подстилке, во мху, под корой^[5].

Систематика

В составе рода Isotoma (в широком таксономическом объёме) выделяют несколько подродов (в том числе, Desoria, Pseudoisotoma и другие). Род включён в подсемейство Isotominae по признакам относительно длинной прыгательной вилки, кольчатого денса, обильной сенсорной хетотаксии^[6]. В род Изотома входят следующие виды:^[7]
