Pyonganbuk-do (North Pyongan) is a province o North Korea. The province wis formed in 1896 frae the northren hauf o the umwhile P'yŏngan Province, remained a province o Korea till 1945, then became a province o North Korea. Its caipital is Sinŭiju. In 2002, Sinŭiju Special Admeenistrative Regionnear the ceety o Sinuijuwis established as a separately govrened Special Admeenistrative Region.

The Yalu River forms the northren border wi Cheenae. The province is an aw bordered on the east bi Chagang an on the sooth bi Pyongannam-do. Sinŭiju Special Admeenistrative Region (Sinŭiju T'ŭkpyŏl Haengjŏnggu) is locatit in the wastren corner o the province, an wis creatit as an admeenistrative entity separate frae Pyonganbuk-do in 2002. Pyonganbuk-do is bundit bi watter on the wast wi Korea Bay an the Yellae Sea (cried the Wast Sea bi Koreans).
