Area code 518 is an area code for New York. It was one of the primary area codes created in 1947. It covers the northeasternmost part of Upstate New York. 518 consist of towns such as its state capital, Albany, Schenectady, and Troy, Plattsburgh, Saratoga Springs, and Glen Falls. It was overlaid by 838 in 2017.[1]
