Ernest Augustus (5 June 1771 – 18 November 1851) was the fifth son and eighth child of George III of the United Kingdom.
Ernest Augustus was made Duke of Cumberland by his father and became King of Hanover on 28 June 1837, on the death of his brother William IV of the United Kingdom.
His successor in Hanover was his only son, George V of Hanover.
