The Great Red Spot is a hurricane on the surface of the planet Jupiter. It is so big that two or three Earths could fit inside it. It has been going on for at least 340 years.

Scientists do not know why/how it formed, some researchers think because of the chemicals like Ammonia in the upper part of the Great Red Spot. Scientists also notice that the spot is getting smaller which they also don't understand.
