William H. Gass

William Howard Gass (July 30, 1924 – December 6, 2017) was an American novelist, critic and philosophy professor. He wrote three books, Omensetter's Luck (1966), The Tunnel (1995) and Middle C (2013). He also wrote three collections of short stories, a collection of novellas and seven volumes of essays. He won many awards.
Gass was born in Fargo, North Dakota. He grew up in Warren, Ohio.
