A Free Soul is a 1931 American drama movie directed by Clarence Brown and based on the 1927 novel of the same name by Adela Rogers St. Johns. It stars Lionel Barrymore, Norma Shearer, Leslie Howard, Clark Gable, Lucy Beaumont and was distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was nominated for 3 Oscars and won an Academy Award in 1931.
