Alexander Rybak (born 13 May 1986) is a Belarusian-born Norwegian singer, composer and violinist.[1] He won the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Fairytale".

He was born in Minsk, Belarusian SSR. His family moved to Norway when he was four.
Eurovision Song Contest
In 2009, Rybak won Melodi Grand Prix, allowing him to represent Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Fairytale".[2] He won the contest.[3]
Rybak won the Melodi Grand Prix again in 2018 with the song "That’s How You Write a Song", sending him to the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.[4] He placed 15th in the final. He had a cameo appearance in the Eurovision movie.
