Ashure (Turkish: Aşure or Aşura) is a traditional pudding. Ashure is made from grains, dried fruits and nuts. There are no animal products (butter, milk, cheese, etc.) and ashure is vegan. Sufi Muslims make it to celebrate the Day of Ashura.
The Armenian version of the grain pudding ashure is called anoushabour. Since Armenians serve this pudding during Christmas and on New Year's Eve.
